While gameplay details for Lorcana are still largely under wraps - Ravensburgers initial release promised thoughtful and unique gameplay, while co-designer Ryan Miller told Dicebreaker at D23 that specifics would be revealed next year - the games first cards will arguably do little to fend off assumptions that the card game is effectively Magic: The Gathering in Disney cosplay

The issue now is that theres so much good stuff and everything is a piece to a different combo, im not sure what to cut

It would be nice to see an increased focus on this for all Ink types in further expansions

Considering its target audience, it makes a lot of sense for the starter decks for Disney Lorcana to prioritise teaching the basic gameplay mechanics over anything else, but it didn't make playing them feel any less underwhelming
